Was invited by an Otaku friend, Razrig to try out a Spirits of Music event last night. So being interested about it, we went and check it out.

My fav picture of the night... which was not taken by me. Lol! Irony-nya!

Wow... Been a whole month since I put up anything new. Although it feels slightly awkward now, posting something happy placed just next to the previous post of grief. Hmm.. I should go ahead anyway.

Just came back from burying Bobby, our dog, who past away last night. Whole house feel so quiet now. Not that Bobby used to make a lot of noise. Just have a great sense of lost. And every now and then my family weeps or cries for him.

Seeing other people playing Rockband and not doing too well. Mart and Vivian got a little itchy and wanted to try it for themselves.

Altered Frequency @ Mid Valley

Went to Mid Valley with my family last evening to grab dinner. Saw the Machines exhibition there. Was walking around until I noticed the music coming from the middle Stage of the exhibition. So I went to take a look. Wow! This guys were very good. So out comes my camera and in comes some videos and photos. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of battery shortly after so didn't have a chance to take more videos of their other songs.

Yesterday was my first time seeing Altered Frequency in action. I'm pretty sure I've heard about them on the radio before, but as usual, didn't really bother to check them out. But last night... Wow! They rocked!

A side note to self, Fs7 flash functions sark! Every iA (automatic) picture shot used the flash and came out badly. Instead, I manually turned off the flash and pictures from that came out fine. So out of a bunch of photos, only the first one came out fine. Others became too dark.

Rm309 from Machines Mid Valley. Ipod Shuffle 3rd Gen.

Initially I really wanted to buy it online. If you do, they have a free service of engraving whatever you wanted on your Ipod Shuffle. But as usual.. I don't have a credit card. :p Was gonna engrave the title of this post and my short name.

First off.. unwrapping my gadget. Apple packagings are like the best ever. Everything was neatly positioned in the box and had wrappers around them to make sure they will not scratch or fall out of place.

As for the hardware itself, my only complaint is that the earphone wires are way too short. To be honest, I am a really short guy. I mean really! Erm.. 5 feet plus if I'm not mistaken. And the earphone wires are already stretched to their limit if I put the iPod Shuffle into my pocket. And if you think of it, finding a better replacement will not be easy since they incorporated the controls into the earphone set. Dear Mr.Apple, If you wanted to reinforce your earphone sets to make it compulsory then at least have the foresight to include longer wires. I know that they will probably be third party earphones with controls in the near future too. But that would still mean I have to spend additional money.

iTunes is another prick I am really disliking. 2 reasons, I find the equalizer functions really inadequate and weak. I was using JetAudio Basic which was so much better. It also allows me to sort files by their actual file names. I had to spend 1 hour just to edit the information on every song just to get iTunes to arrange them right.
Second and the more important point, it doesn't recognize A FEW of my favorite songs. Hence I cannot load it into my iPod Shuffle since it needs to go through iTunes. That's really a major piss-off, when I was looking forward to rocking to those songs on the go. I have been using a lot of different mp3 players and none has ever not been able to recognize all the songs I have. There is no error message or anything, nothing just happens when I select the file. If anyone has any solution to this please drop me a comment of something. I have tried Googling but to no avail.

Ok.. Now for the most important part which I initially left out because I wanted to fully charge my iPod before I use it. The playback quality... which is absolutely superb! I am noticing notes and details of songs which I have not noticed before. Voices are clear and crisp. Initially I was worried whether not having the option to play around with the equalizer will lower the quality of playback from the iPod Shuffle itself. But my worries were in vain.

As for the Voice feature, I'm not really getting it to work. The only thing it ever says is "All Songs". I think I'll need to fool around to see if I can get it to finally say the song titles. Will update on that, if I can remember to. Lol! As for now, I'm gonna go enjoy my music.. :p

And the old song they kept repeating were mostly crap too. None were to my liking, rap, tech, love songs, none!

Haven't touch my Tales of Symphonia or The Witcher for a week now. Been busy watching animes like there's no tomorrow. Lol! And works been hectic.

Anyhows, plan to blog on The Witcher has been dropped. Lol! I did a minor write-up on the introduction scene for the game and will post it up later. But am gonna end it at that, won't be going in-game.

Gonna be focusing on Anime3r instead. Queuing up different projects based on anime. Did a little readup on fansubs today. Gave up before I even started. Lol!

Ayumi Hamasaki - Next Level... down?

The local radio station has been playing Ayumi Hamasaki's new release non-stop recently. 1 song is called Next Level and give's a bit of the more beat-ty tune. Another song I didn't catch the title, but is more of a slow ballad. Hmm... A little poor for an Ayumi release isn't it?
Don't get me wrong. I like her songs. Well.. Most of her songs. Her songs has mostly been about having a catchy beat and repeating it over again and again. Evolution, Beautiful Fighter, etc. etc. Some of my favorite songs.

But this time, the formula really backfired. Repetitive notes + bad tunes = boring song. The newest release really brings Ayumi Hamasaki the next level, down that is.

The Witcher - Best of 2007

Was looking around for a nice rpg to play a while back, and Marts recommended The Witcher. Wow! Addictive shitz. Playing the game, 2 hours will pass by in a blink and will definitely not be enough gametime. But, I have decided to stop it for now, put it aside and go back to Tales of Symphonia on the Wii. After I finish that only will I restart The Witcher.

So 10 hours into the game and my current achievements (some not really proud of) in The Witcher includes:
1) Having a Mentor trust me with the life of his Apprentice during battle, only to let me get him killed within the first trip. :p
2) Choosing to let a female witch go up against a well-known mercenary and a mysterious sorcerer alone while I group up with a band of other Witchers and ganged up on a praying mantis
3) Saving a waitress from a bunch of thugs only to find out from her grandma that I knocked her up
4) Saving a dwarf from a group of haters, later letting him con me of my gold while "teaching" me how to play poker
Lol!

But all sarcasm aside, this game RoXs! Decided to do a detailed review and storyline sypnosis of the game later. And now, to finish Tales of Symphonia.

Seagate FreeAgent Go 320Gb

Recently my anime collection has really taken a toll on my hard disk. Using up the majority percentage leaving me with only +-1 gigabyte left. So a few days back I thought that it was about time I got myself a spare hard disk to store my animes temporarily. Then finding out that last Saturday was a holiday, I thought it was a great opportunity to go get one. So did a little Google to do some read up on some information Friday night, and went to Digital Mall the next day. Came back with a Seagate FreeAgent Go 320Gb Usb only. Encountered some minor misinformation which should be cleared up. First off, when I Googled around, all reviews of the Seagate FreeAgent portable hard disk had firewire a.k.a 1394. But when I shopped around, there were no Firewire versions, only usb adapters.
Cosmetically, the drive looks quite a stunner. When plugged in, dots of lights radiant from holes which is not easily seen by the eye.

I don’t have the knowhow to do a full performance test. And do not have any benchmark software I can use currently. But in summary, it took me 19 seconds to transfer a single 500mb .mkv media file from my internal hard disk to the Seagate FreeAgent Pro. Is that suppose to be good? Lol. I honestly have no benchmark-freaking-clue. Although a 320Gb, the usable space was only 298Gb. I doubt the auto back-up software and drivers took up 20Gb, and I’m not bothered enough by it to replug my FreeAgent after I have stored it away neatly. Now if only they put all the files neatly into a Seagate folder or something. I’m a neat-freak. I like my files properly and thoroughly folder-ized.

Ignore the 227Gb remaining in the screenshot please, I backed up some files and hid it. :p

One thing to take note is that the cable provided is too short. Initially I wanted to connect the FreeAgent to a usb port located in the lower front of my computer casing (below the 3.5” floppy drive) and leave the hard disk on top of the casing. But it was too short, and I didn’t want to leave my hard disk on the floor. Pfft!

End of the day, I believe it was a good buy. Seagate FreeAgent Go 320Gb @ Rm259 at Digital Mall PJ. Other minor specs include 7200rpm, Usb adapter, and erm… nice packaging? Lol!
Only question now is, how reliable is it? We’ll see as I plug it in, add files, un-plug it on a daily basis.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

It has now been the 4th hour into the game. And so far, it's doing fine. The longer I play the game, the more addicting it gets. Colette just joined the party of Emil and Marta. Making things slightly more interesting. But one thing which is already getting irritating is how Marta shows her affection and how Emil feints ignorance.

Anyway, just wanted to mention that this is the the type of J.R.P.G. I enjoy. Nothing too complicating, freedom of Leveling up, and a nice little fantasy story to go with it. Sure, the graphics feels abit dated, but it's a game meant for Wii after all.

Definitely recommended to gamers.

Talk about having a bad night.. Didn't manage to get much sleep last night.. Had some weird ass dreams..

First dream.. I was at a pharmacy and bumped into a pregnant woman.. She got really pissed and started scolding my ballz off.. Next thing you know.. I woke up from my sleep.. check the clock.. 2am plus..

Second dream.. or rather a nightmare.. I dreamt that I was sleeping nicely in my bed (as I was doing in reality).. I was sleeping on my side facing the right.. Then just as I shifted position and starting rotating upwards to face the ceiling.. I saw the same pregnant woman who I bumped into the dream before.. she was floating by the ceiling.. but this time instead of wearing casual clothing.. she was wearing a full black dress.. and just as she lunged towards me reaching for my neck.. It was so freaking real! The room was exactly as my room was, my sleeping style was exactly as it was, even when I was rotating in my sleep I was actually rotating in reality.. scary ass shit!
I woke up.. sweating like crazy.. I litterally pounced up from my sleep.. lied back down.. check the clock 3plus am.. Went back to sleep..

Third dream.. Things really start getting weird here.. I dreamt that I was one of The Joker's henchmen (As in from Batman).. And Joker ordered me to go rob a museum.. After some planning and gathering tools.. I went on with the robbery.. And everything actually went smoothly during the theft.. that is, until I was just about to leave through the main entrance.. Next thing you know, the wax figure of Indiana Jones beside the main door turned out to be Batman (he was literally wearing an Indiana Jones getup). He grabbed my shoulder, stopped me and beat me up. But when he later found out that I wasn't giving up any information easily, i laid me down by the door, it was those rotating doors. Stuck both my feet out inbetween the doors. And slammed the door dull strength..
And again I woke up.. check the clock.. Almost 5am..

Been sick since Monday night. Very very sick. Really had it going for me with headaches, dizziness, joint aches, muscle pains, high fever, vomit urges, loss of appetite. Went to the doctor who asked me to take 2 days off because I should be bedridden. But I know I shouldn’t as the office is pretty backlogged. So I’m just slept through the night and see how it went. Initially the doctor said that if the fever doesn’t die down or if I develop red rashes then I have to go to the clinic again as it could be Chikunya or Dengue. But now the fever is gone so I’m safe.

All that’s left now is the stupid dizziness and the constant urge to vomit which is affecting my appetite.

First off, I'd like to wish a close friend of mine the best of health and a speedy recovery!

2nd, I'd like to congratulate my cousin John Ng and Ngah Mun on their wedding. The wedding ceremony was actually pretty good. Not in the sense of the venue, but more like, the family warmth was there, the tables were spaced out adequetly, and the food was great!

For me, it was like a freaking bald convention. Once all my uncles grouped together at my table and started compairing each others hair. I knew I was farked. Lol! I was the clear winner.

The thing I hate about dinners is having to work the next day, knowing you won’t be able to sleep late the next morning. So I didn’t really relax myself too much.

Had a pretty big accident last night. Sigh. Was coming down a blind corner to find cars stationary. Applied brakes and started skidding. Smacked right into a Kancil which then chained into another car. Kancil fella was one violent fark. Kept apologizing and apologizing but kept scolding and scolding. All this just before the new year. Then had lots of issues while towing the car back home, like losing my car keys and other stuff. Memang jinxed man!

Hands are a little giddy now. It's shaking as I try to take my eating utensils for breakfast. Ain't got no confidence in driving no more. Today is gonna be a long moody day. Sigh!

As usual, was doing my rushing home from work drive routine. A little tail-gating. A little no-braking. Weather was a little dark. With wet roads and a little drizzle along the way. Just as I was to turn into the last corner to reach my house. Braked a little too slow and Bang. :p
It was not too serious. Kinda something in between a Bang! and a Bump! I kissed a Proton Saga right up his ass. Signal to stop at the side. And boy was I lucky!

I was expecting to go to the police station to make a report and all that. Cause I sure as hell wasn't gonna pay. But instead, the driver got down the car, took a look at his rear bumper and said that it was fine. And then asked me what about my front bumper. I told him mine was fine too. And he said nevermind then. I apologized. He smiled and got up his car and just drove off.

It has been a long long time since I had an accident. Come to think of it. I think this is my first and only (don't want to jinx it now do we?) accident which was my fault for 2008.

Hmm! Could this be karma for the last time a Mercedes S-class rear-ended me and I just waved it off? :p

Recently a friend just got a used bike as a gift from a relative. The bicycle seems a little run down due to not being used for quite some time, with a little rust here and there. He wanted to try and pick up cycling a little and see how it goes. So I brought him over to CMS today. The bike just required a change of tire, a new tube, pedals and it was good to go. Sweet!

Was fooling around the shop while we waited. :p

Going Down Stairs

Downed my first stairs today. Lol! Was fooling around with my Hardy 3 at a basketball court near my friend's place. Then thought "What the heck, always thought that that place was a nice place to ride"

Went on to try the different staircases one by one. Ranging from roughly 5 to 8 steps (taking a wild guess). First time I biked this late. But it was fun for sure. HaHa!

No vids or pics though. Was biking alone. Was too late anyway so my shitty phone camera wouldn't have been able to take pictures anyway. Next time! :p

I'm Friends With A Pop Star!

Last night, a few friends and I to a drive to Genting Highlands. Wasn't really thinking of doing anything, just thought we'd take a drive up and meet with some other friends for fun. You see, the other friends had tickets to a Malaysian Artist Award show. Famous local starts were at the show, including Fish Leong (Liang Jing Rue), Michael and Victor (Guan Liang, Ping Guan; I still don't know who is who Lol!), Gary (Chao Ger), and lots more.

So, after the awards and performances was over, there was a post-award party. Like what you would expect from parties with stars; There were fences set up, guards along the walkway, fans crowding the sides shouting names of whoever was walking pass, lots of flashes from fans taking pictures, stretching out their hands hoping to shake hands.

So while some of my friends were inside the party (they had tickets), the others including me (who had no tickets), just took a stroll around Genting, drinking coffee, "bird watching" and all that crap. :p

After we were done, we went back to the party, trying to catch a peek inside to see if we could find the others. They were still taking pics and hanging around. Getting bored, we gave them a call and asked them if they were coming out soon. They were, so we thought we'd wait at the fence where the other fans was crowding around since that was the only entrance and exit. While waiting, I had the chance to a pretty close look at Fish Leong, Michael and Victor who was just leaving. Tried to reach out and shake their hand. But was out of reach. -_-"

Then a friend had an idea. Lol! A wicked light bulb was burning way way bright. So we crowded at the fence, found a good spot. And camped.

Then the friends we were waiting for inside came out. LOLOLOL!! The moment we saw them, we went "WENG YEW! WENG YEW!!" "SHAKE MY HAND!!" "WENG YEW!! AAHHH!!!" and snapped photo's non-stop. Seriously, our volume rivaled those of Fish leong's fans. Lol!

But my friend just walked straight out, too shy for all that. The funny thing was, the groupies on our left wasn't sure who Weng Yew (our friend's name) was but not wanting to lose out, they went ahead and snapped photo's anyway. Next thing you know, flashes was flying off left and right at my friend. LOLOLOL!!!!

Not only that, just as we at the fence was walking away to meet them at the end of the fenced area. We heard another bunch of groupies going "Weng Yew mut sui ar?" (translation: Who is this Weng Yew?)

LOL! One of us was laughing his arse off and started dropping tears. And when we meet up with the others, Weng Yew was covered in sweat. Lol! SUPAHSTAR-DOM!!!!

And there you have it, I have a superstar for a friend. Famous for a day. Really once in a life time feeling which I would have loved to try. LOL!!!

Unfortunately, on the way home down from Genting. He got a flat and had difficulty replacing cause his spare tire was locked (from rust) to his boot. Ended up calling some other friends to make a u-turn to rescue him. Price of being famous. Lol!!!

As a sidenote, my brakes failed me on the way down from Genting. Brake fade like a #%^*^%#*@@! Shit, definitely need to improve the braking performance of my car.

Had a short basketball session last night. Went for tea as usual after that. And usually we would head home after that. However, last night seemed to make a few of us restless. Thinking of what to do, we came up with the idea of going for a game of Quake at a nearby cybercafe. Thought about it for a minute and we thought of going to Taman Mayang. So paid the bill and off we went. Reach the cybercafe, walked in to be disappointed at the lack of games and vacant computers. So we thought about it again and went to Atria and drove around looking for another cybercafe.

In between the search, it really made me feel like I was back in college or something. Lol! Definitely didn't feel like your usual Friday. Other friends who came along also said so. 4 cars driving around looking for cybercafes. Lol! Sweet old days.

Well, it might not make you younger physically. But at least it makes you feel 10 years younger in the heart! (The fact that no one was smoking in the cybercafe also helps :p)

Fruitful Day Indeed

Yesterday was, as the title suggests, a fruitful day indeed. Gonna break it down into parts so that it doesn't get too messy.

Woke up at 5am (YES! 5am) and I couldn't get back to sleep. I was thinking "Well! What a great way to start a day! Having lack of sleep!" But no matter, messed around the room. Packed up a little. Then next thing I know, it was time to wash up and go for the morning ride session at Shah Alam Extreme Park.

Over there I met Shafiq, Akmal, Kenji and another rider who I forgot to ask for his name. :p

First to arrive! Lol!

Kenji was the unlucky rider of the day. On his way over to the park, some idiot car driver honked him for no apparent reason and distracted Kenji long enough to not notice a boulder dead ahead and crashed.

Just got back from CMS at SriMuda. Did what I went to do, changing to thinner tires for the rear. Hehehe! But somehow or rather, a sudden outburst of itch overwhelmed my thoughts and I came back with not only a Kenda Nevegal tire for the rear but also a Shimano Deore crankset. Lol!

After careful consideration, I think I will stop posting up prices from now on. CMS's prices are so affordable that it really puts other shops to shame -_-" And I don't want to be blamed should anything happen in the future. If you guys want to know the price, maybe you can drop me an email or feel free to add me on MSN instead. Hope this won't deter any readers.

So, about my shopping spree yesterday. Went over to OME Cycles or also known as Getz cycles. Initially was planning to get a whole new wheelset. However, didn't really bring enough moolah to include the hubs. So ended up using the original Formula hubs from the T-bolt. Total damage was Rm500. But very nice service and explanation provided. The boss there will give you a nice and thorough explanation if you ask him.

Barely clearing the front derailleur. Dangerous I know, but will fix it on my next visit to the lbs. :)

Also barely clearing the Spinner Enduro.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Hehehe! Sexayhness. Panaracer Fire FR 2.4's, Dabomb "DaRim" rims, Dabomb black spokes and Hutckinson tubes.

Then today, went to FRIM. SUFFER! Lol. See, due to the tire being too fat. The front chainguide couldn't engage 1st gear. Or the chain will get raped by the tire knobs. So I had to do the whole of FRIM on the 2nd gear. Can definitely feel a stiffer setup now, most probably because of the rims. And now I'm gonna log off cause I need to recuperate. Didn't really like the screws on my stem. So dropped by a local hardware store 2 weeks ago to find them allen key screws. 12 bucks poorer now; but looks so much sexier!

And today; Went on a "semi" shopping spree. :p

Hmm, you can see there are some rough edges along the vents. Finer workmanship required. But what can you expect? It's a budget full-face helmet.

Doctor's advice

Went to a clinic on Thursday to get my wounds checked out. Chatted for a while, found out I was having an allergic reaction to yellow lotion.

The doctor also gave me an advice on how I should not just drink plain water for long cross countries. Instead, should probably drink between 50% of Isotonic drink and 50% water. So gonna try that next ride.

Made my way down to Shah Alam Freeride Park today (Also known as Shah Alam Extreme Park). Lol! Was fun. Did the beginner drops, which should be about 2 feet I guess. Was scared the first time, then 2nd time, then 3rd. And no worries after that. My drops sarked though. As I keep landing front wheel first, which kinda hurts; Both the bike and the rider.

Went to CMS Bicycle and Accessories@SriMuda today. Brought my Hardy 3 frame and my T-Bolt along. Finally gonna transfer everything over to get my UMF Hardy 3 rolling! Woot! Woot! Freeride bike ready! Only issue now is the rider. Lol!

Halfway through the build.

New Goodies on the Hardy 3 includes a Shimano Deore front derailleur and Shimano SIS SP shift cables. And also a "Scott" chainring protector or whatever you call it.

Ready to roll Hardy 3. Before you start flaming me out; I know that the cockpit is a little too high. Am gonna give it a go for a few times before I cut it. Don't want to regret it man. :)

And just to pamper myself a little more; bought an Azonic Vektor full finger glove.

Total damage to my wallet amounts up to Rm200 (bundle price for everything). CMS Bicycles and Accessories@Sri Muda; really a shop which satisfies the term Peng-Leng-Jeng for me. Can see that the boss really concentrates when setting the bike up. Can't wait to test everything out this coming weekend.

As for the T-Bolt, am gonna built it up. ;p Get myself a spare bike to switch in between every now and then. T-bolt for more road/XC and Hardy 3 for more AM/FR. T-Bolt would probably be using the RST Launch though. Lol! Funny combo.

This is how i've set up my gears for now, adjusting both front and rear derailleurs. Setup how-to's from here. Pretty much a cover everything guide. If you get a little confused, try youtube, it'll clear some doubts in your mind. :)

Basically smooth gears from 1-1 to 1-8, 1-9 gets jumpy. Then from 2-2 to 2-9 and 3-2 to 3-9. Gear 2-1 and 3-1 are practically useless and the chain will either jump to the 2nd largest sprocket or not properly engage.
